DFL is adding 2nd grade tackle football to our already awesome league. DFL conducted a test run at the end of the 2011 season , putting 22 kids in full gear and playing a football game. The results were so good we decided to add an instructional tackle program. The instructional program is intended for 2nd graders who are ready to play tackle football and also for advanced 1st graders. We also are allowing 3rd graders weighing less than 50 lbs to play in the Mini league as well. The 3rd graders playing down can only play between the tackles on offense (not a skill position carrying the football). In order to not overwhelm the kids, we are putting in place a playbook for offense and defense for all teams to follow. This will also help the coaches.

The Flag league is going to be 7 on 7 and all players can handle the ball. Flag league is going to be available for k, 1st and 2nd grade.

The DFL is also excited to announce the new weight limits for running the ball in both the Junior (3rd and 4th grade) and Senior (5th and 6th grade) league. The Junior league will be 95 lbs. (previous weight 85 lbs). The Senior league Is 120 lbs. (Previous weight 110lbs). Each kid will be weighed prior to the season, and weighed during the season to monitor weight for safety.

The DFL feels these changes in our structure will better accommodate all children in the Dublin area. We are constantly working on making our league better and reach our goal of providing a fun Football experience for all grade and skill levels for all kids in Dublin.

Welcome to the 2012 Football Season!

The Dublin Football League (DFL) is dedicated to providing each player with a fun, safe and meaningful football experience throughout the entire football season.

DFL is a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. More than 600 youth are participating in football and cheerleading this season.

The Dublin Football League is committed to providing quality football experiences to fall school age children in the grades first through sixth. This is accomplished through the many hours of dedication from our coaches, parents and community volunteers and through the generosity of our community sponsors.
