Registration

Parents must click the following link, after registering through DFL you must also register with Ohio Rugby Union.

*Dublin Rugby Registrants: DO NOT pay Ohio Rugby Union - fees are only paid to DFL and the DFL will pay the dues to ORU after registrations are completed.
(This keeps it simple for the families registering kids to be able to only pay one time in one place: through DFL's registration system).

  • Registration Opens 1/14/2019 and closes 2/14/2019
  • Players must register through Dublin Football League website, AND must complete registration through link provided with Rugby Ohio

General Notes

Organization/team creation:

Designed to be flexible as we don't know how many kids will register.

Full contact / Tackle Rugby:

All players will be assessed, trained, and once deemed safe by commissioner, players will be gradually introduced to full contact.
If registration numbers warrant; in tackle league:
  • 1st and 2nd graders will be combined to form teams and will be known as "mini-me rugby"
  • 3rd and 4rth graders will be combined to form the "junior league" -
  • 5th and 6th grade will combine to form the "senior league"
  • 7th and 8th grade will combine to form "middle school rugby"
There are many unknown variables that could come into play at various age groups.
We have a plan to work within the Columbus Olympic Youth Rugby League to field as many competitive teams as possible at each age group and could potentially see a format like this:
  • 6 week season (2 games each Saturday)
  • Dublin hosting one (maybe 2) Saturdays
  • Polaris hosting one weekend
  • Hilliard hosting one weekend
  • Worthington hosting one weekend
  • Olentangy hosting one weekend
  • Watkins Memorial hosting one weekend

Tournament Play:

  • Middle school tournament on 7th week for players selected by the coaches.
  • The winning team of Central Ohio middle school tournament results in invitation for State Championship Tournament hosted by Ohio Rugby Union
All players who participate in COYRL rugby program have option of at least one flag football game through DFL each week following the rugby games.
